The BRIG "AUSTRALIA"
Background - Maiden Voyage - Ultimate Fate

Launched in August, 2001, this ever expanding web-site covers the known history of the vessel from its construction in 1852 through to the final voyage in 1873. Specifically detailing the lives (both pre-trip and post-trip) of all on board (including my great-grandfather, Joel Smith Tompkins) for the maiden voyage from Saint John, New Brunswick to Melbourne, Australia - Aug. to Dec., 1852.

NEW BRUNSWICK

A web-site devoted to the probable origins of my great-great-great-grandfather,
who was born in New York, fought for the British in the Revolutionary War
and was granted land on the St. John River in Carleton County, New Brunswick.

a listing of the first three generations of Jacob's descendants.

The GOOD OLD FAMILY ALBUM

This site was set up basically to share some images with family
and friends around the world. Initially, we have mainly immediate
family photos, but will expand our scope to feature overseas
relatives and some of our ancestors in due course! Hopefully
you can spare the time to check out this batch of family
photos both old and new. You might even find out the identities of the "rose" and surrounding "thorns" in the photo at left!

THE Gentleman of Aussie Country Music
has recently established his own domain
on the Internet so we've handed the website
duties over to a new Webmaster.

We would also like to recommend that you
visit and enjoy the current web-sites for two
other good friends on the Country Music scene -
BRENT PARLANE (pictured left) and
GREG CHAMPION (on the right).
Backaways, when things weren't quite so hectic,
we helped set-up their web-sites, but we've now
handballed them to new Webmasters who'll
devote the necessary time and effort to them.

And just while you're checking out other people's sites, perhaps you might care to have a look at some which I consider to be INTERESTING LINKS. There you'll find a selection of sites dedicated to Country Music artists and groups - local & overseas, other entertainers, TV series, genealogy, palaeontology etc., etc.

We currently have a couple of new web-pages in the works relating to:-
(a) The WAR LETTERS of A.F.W. MARR - (my uncle) who was killed in France in 1917, and
(b) TED COLSON, the first white-man to cross the Simpson Desert.
Please bookmark this site and come back from time-to-time to check our progress. Thank you!

Page twice quickly "rehashed" by Allan J. Tompkins (tompkins@ozemail.com.au) in Dec., 2005 and Jan., 2006.

This page really needs a lot of work, but it'll have to wait till some time later in 2006.
